About
From Queenstown to Rothesay, our story is rooted in adventure, friendship and creating spaces you’ll love.
We design holiday homes with character, thoughtfully crafted and grounded in local flavour for travellers who value both comfort and a sense of adventure.
Based on the Isle of Bute, Willow Wood Property began when Cat returned home after years abroad and decided to bring her experience in hosting and design to the island. What started as one idea soon grew into a shared vision. Cat brought in Hayley to manage and help shape Willow Wood Property into what it is today — a collection of cosy, design-led holiday homes that feel like home (only better).
Meet Cat & Hayley
Cat and Hayley first met years ago while living in Queenstown, New Zealand, where they bonded over travel, skiing, and a shared love of good design. After returning to the UK, they reconnected and soon found an opportunity to combine their experience. Together, they create stays that bring together comfort, thoughtful design, and the easygoing charm of island life.
Cat
After 15 years living overseas in Australia and New Zealand, Cat was ready to return to the place her heart never left — the Isle of Bute. During her time abroad, she hosted a successful Airbnb in Queenstown and discovered a real love for creating spaces that feel welcoming and memorable. Founding Willow Wood Property was her way of bringing that same hospitality and design sensibility home. She now spends her days sharing Bute’s hidden gems, favourite eateries, and local treasures with guests.
Hayley
With a background in luxury travel and property management, Hayley has worked with destination management organisations around the world. Since returning to the UK, she’s spent significant time on the Isle of Bute, developing a deep connection to Rothesay and its community. When Cat invited her to help manage and grow Willow Wood Property, it felt like a natural fit — blending Hayley’s international expertise with the island’s relaxed pace and charm.
Destination & Design
Our focus is on creating beautiful, functional spaces that make you smile. Each property is designed to feel relaxed yet refined, with everything you need close at hand to enjoy your time away. Comfort is always at the heart of what we do.
Working with local designer Benji from Bertram Studio, we bring together thoughtful design and local craftsmanship to reflect Bute’s unique character. Between Cat, Hayley, and Benji, every detail has been carefully considered so your stay feels effortless from start to finish.
Your destination is just one of many stunning escapes across Scotland — and we look forward to welcoming you here soon.
